Vernon’s #1 Remote Auto Appraisal Service!
At BC Auto Appraisals, our mission is to empower Vernon residents with the knowledge needed to make well-informed decisions regarding vehicle taxes. As of October 1st, 2022, British Columbia residents partaking in private transactions for pre-owned vehicles are now subject to Transfer Tax, solely determined by the Average Canadian Black Book Wholesale Value, contingent on the vehicle’s Year, Make, and Model.
However, it’s crucial to recognize that this valuation approach overlooks critical aspects such as your vehicle’s physical condition, mechanical well-being, mileage, maintenance history, accident record, and other factors that significantly contribute to your vehicle’s genuine value. Should your vehicle fall below the average standard in any of these categories, rest assured that our team of Licensed Appraisal Experts is fully equipped to conduct a comprehensive Professional Vehicle Appraisal.
We firmly believe that every used vehicle possesses its own unique attributes and should be tax-assessed based on its actual value, taking into account all pertinent factors. The professionals at BC Auto Appraisals are dedicated to guiding you through this process, ensuring a smooth and equitable transaction every step of the way.

Need Your Vehicle Appraised?
Recognizing the impact of your vehicle’s condition on potential tax savings is vital. Factors like extensive mileage, mechanical challenges, maintenance requirements, physical damage, prior accidents, and more can significantly lower your tax burden when you opt for a Professional Vehicle Appraisal conducted by BC Auto Appraisals’ licensed experts.
As you set out on your vehicle purchase journey, our dedicated team is here to provide unwavering support in protecting your hard-earned money, ensuring you steer clear of unnecessary ICBC Vehicle Tax expenses.
Here’s the fantastic part: should BC Auto Appraisals’ assessed value happen to be lower than ICBC’s Average Canadian Black Book valuation, your tax liability will be based on the higher of the two values – either BC Auto Appraisals’ assessment or the private Purchase Price of your vehicle. This approach guarantees equitable and precise taxation, reflecting your asset’s true worth while optimizing your financial resources.
