about us
At BC Auto Appraisals, we are committed to empowering our Penticton clientele with informed tax decisions regarding their vehicles. Commencing October 1st, 2022, the introduction of Transfer Tax in British Columbia has transformed the landscape of private Pre-Owned Vehicle transactions. This tax is exclusively determined by the Average Canadian Black Book Wholesale Value, predicated solely on the vehicle’s Year, Make, and Model.
However, it is imperative to recognize that this valuation framework overlooks pivotal factors such as your vehicle’s physical condition, mechanical well-being, mileage, maintenance history, accident record, and other variables that wield a substantial impact on your vehicle’s genuine value. In situations where your vehicle falls short of the average benchmark in any of these domains, you can trust our team of Licensed Appraisal Experts to conduct a meticulous Professional Vehicle Appraisal.
We firmly uphold the belief that each used vehicle possesses its unique attributes and warrants a tax assessment that mirrors its actual worth, taking into account the complete spectrum of pertinent factors. Our seasoned professionals at BC Auto Appraisals stand ready to steer you through this process, ensuring a seamless and equitable transaction experience tailored to your needs.

Want Your Vehicle Appraised?
Were you aware that the condition of your vehicle might translate into potential tax savings? Extensive mileage, mechanical challenges, maintenance requirements, body damage, prior accidents, and more can genuinely lower your tax obligations when your vehicle undergoes a thorough assessment by BC Auto Appraisals’ licensed experts.
As you embark on your journey of acquiring a vehicle, our team is poised to provide unwavering support, helping you protect your hard-earned money by steering clear of unnecessary ICBC Vehicle Tax expenditures.
The exciting part is this: should BC Auto Appraisals’ assessment value happen to be less than ICBC’s Average Canadian Black Book valuation, you will be taxed based on the higher of the two values – either BC Auto Appraisals’ assessment or the private Purchase Price of your vehicle. This meticulous approach ensures an equitable and precise tax assessment that aligns with your asset’s actual worth, all while optimizing your financial resources effectively.
